about/ contact

Gillian Cox is a well travelled linguist and practising artist, who has lived in Spain Switzerland Scotland and England,  & moved to Cheltenham in 2002.

In 2005 she began structured lessons at the Cheltenham School of Fine Art, where she refined her drawing and observational work from life.

In 2009, she co-founded Crescent Art Space, a studio and exhibition space based in Cheltenham.

Her oil paintings form a bold, intuitive and thoughtful approach to painting. Gillian’s development of her personal style has been through meditating on a particular subject or experience within her own thoughts and emotions, sometimes incorporating aspects of abstraction.

Using her imaginative flare, she paints both everyday narratives in oils reflecting the journey and feelings of her own daily life, alongside commercial paintings by commission.
